Network Administrator

Location:  Victoria, BC
Status: Full Time employee

 Job Description:

Key responsibilities:

Maintain computers and networks, including hardware, software, infrastructure, active directory, user profiles, ISP accounts, VPN, Citrix, and automation of network administration.   The successful candidate will be working under the direction of the Board of Directors.

Duties:

  • Management of Windows 2003 Server/farm, Windows exchange server, MS SQL server, Citrix, and Active Directory;
  • Provide on-site support for our internal clients;
  • Computer support: software installation and upgrading, desktop and PC installations, servicing and user support;
  • Monitor systems and apply upgrades/patches as necessary;
  • Administration and maintenance of network hardware and software;
  • Administer user accounts (active directory, exchange, SQL), and user permissions on various corporate networks;
  • Provide individual and group training/instructions on an as-needed basis;
  • Participate in quality control testing and assessment of new products and services;
  • Respond to move, add, change requests including physically moving technology, running cabling, working on and below counters and desks, and transporting equipment;
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or connectivity problems; escalate problems/tasks to third party vendors as appropriate;
  • Effective and timely communication of resolution status to users, including documentation of solutions/notes;
  • Flexible work schedule including on-call hours.  Travel is also required.

  • Good knowledge of common Microsoft Office applications.

  • Working knowledge of:
    • Citrix
    • ASP Scripting
    • MS SQL Databases

Aquatic Facility Manager

The Leisure Recreation Group has an employment opportunity for the position of Aquatic Facility Manager for one of our northern BC aquatics facilities. The Manager will be responsible for supervision and management of facility staff as well as co-ordination, instruction and implementation of various aquatic programs and special events.

The preferred candidate will have Lifesaving Instructor certification; Lifesaving Society NLS Pool Option; BCRPA Pool Operator Level II; Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Instructor; diploma/degree in recreation or a related field; minimum of 3 years supervisory experience; thorough knowledge and experience with aquatic programs and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
